One of the co-founders of CMID, Dr. Baishali Goswami is an interdisciplinary researcher with international experience in gender, migration, disability and education. Baishali leads the thematic areas of education, gender, climate change and research at CMID. She is part of the CMID core team in profiling migration from Ganjam, Gajapati and Kandhamal districts of Odisha. She has played a key role in the analysis and preparation of baseline survey reports for various partners of Leonard Cheshire in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Philippines, Sri Lanka and South Africa under the Access to Livelihoods programme. An expert in both quantitative and qualitative research, she is a co-author of the international policy brief ‘Leave No Girl Behind! Lessons from Enhancing Access to Primary Education for Girls with Disability in Nilphamari, Bangladesh, prepared for United Nations Girls Education Initiative (UNGEI) through Leonard Cheshire. She was part of District Level Household Survey-Reproductive and Child Health (DLHS-RCH): India team at the International Institute for Population Sciences, India. Dr. Goswami has a PhD in Development Studies from the Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC), India. Dr. Goswami did her Masters in Populations Studies from International Institute for Population Studies and master’s degree in economics from North Bengal University.
